If you couldn’t tell, I really like shoes.

This blog could easily be a study of drawing and animating some of my favorite kicks. The Nike Air Max series has been a favorite since I was a kid. I finally wore out my pair of Air Max 95’s this summer, but that was only after hiking everywhere with them, from downtown Washington D.C. to the iron mountains in Upper Michigan. You know, they may still have some life left in them…

I chose the Air Max 90 (formerly the Air Max III) as inspiration for this video because, despite it being a late 80s/early 90s shoe from my childhood, the style is timeless and looks just as good today as it did back then. This was also my concept behind the video; use 80s/90s imagery in a way that works just as well now.
